Academy (HCETA) teaches equipment operators to confidently address safety, operational, and maintenance challenges. Upon graduation, students receive three certifications to operate heavy equipment.
HCETA offers an intensive three-level, 240-hour program offered over four weeks and administered by experienced Craft Instructors.
Students train 10 hours a day, six days a week. The first two weeks are spent in the classroom; the next two weeks are on the field site; the next two weeks consists of performing real tasks on Level 3 equipment -- no simulators. While at the field site, students operate their own tractor all day, 10 hours a day, Monday through Saturday. They never have to wait for an available tractor. A total of 120 hours of classroom and 120 hours of tractor training are administered.
HCETA training is certified by the National Center for Construction
education & Research (NCCER). Students completing HCETA's program receive a national certification from the NCCER.
