Hero Film School in
Hollywood, California, trains talented individuals for a career in
Acting, directing, producing, and editing feature films. Students spend seven-months in a Feature Film course that takes them through the entire pre-production, production, post-production, and process of making an actual full-length feature film.
Hero Film School courses have two elements -- the mentoring from experienced film industry professional instructors, and the production work. Students are paid the Guild minimum rates for production work by the company chosen to produce the film.
During the Hero Film School Feature Film course, students audition several times and are selected for a role in a professional feature film. Once roles have been decided, the feature film production continues. Students also participate in post-production activities, as well as the marketing and distribution of the finished movie. The seven-month course ends with a "Red Carpet Premiere" screening of the finished movie to paying audiences.
The film produced will be a low-budget Guild HD Digital feature for which students receive credits toward a Guild accreditation membership.
The Feature Film Course is designed for the experienced students with proven talent, and preference will be given to students with prior learning and experience. HFS encourages applications from individuals interested in
Cinematography,
acting, editing, sound, directing, producing, and other professional roles of people who work on full-length motion pictures.
Students who have already been educated in film making will find HFS the perfect complement to their training. HFS is known as "the finishing school" that helps students bridge their formal training and their entry into the industry. Students who do not have
education or experience in the industry will enjoy Hero Film School's range of short, intensive courses, including
Music video, short film, and TV pilots.
Hero Film School is on the fourth floor of the Historic CBS Studio building on Sunset Boulevard. The premises contains sound stages, sets and workshops, creative areas, and editing and post-production facilities.
