Hiram College sits on a 110-acre campus in historic Hiram,
Ohio, about 35 miles southeast of Cleveland. Hiram is part of the
Western Reserve area of Ohio, which was claimed by the State of Connecticut after the Revolution as a "reserve" to compensate those who had suffered during the war.
The Hiram Plan -- Hiram's calendar for the undergraduate program -- is comprised of two 15-week semesters divided into a 12-week traditional session during which students enroll in three courses and a 3-week session dedicated to a single course of study. The graduate program has a traditional 15-week.
The Weekend College offers Hiram's traditional undergraduate courses to adults. Classes meet on alternate weekends from Friday evening through Sunday morning, with overnight accommodations in the residence hall for those who wish to spend the weekends on campus.
Hiram College is fully accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher
education of the North Central Association of College and Schools. Hiram College also has specialized accreditation or certification for its programs in chemistry, education, and music.
