Originally formed as two separate entities of higher education, Hobart and William Smith Colleges merged officially as one college in 1943. The result has become a New York liberal arts college that provides students with top-notch opportunities to become the next leaders in society.

Hobart and William Smith Colleges offer more than 40 majors and 60 minors, ranging from Africana studies, dance, and Public Policy, to education, Greek, and lesbian, gay, and bisexual studies. Additionally, Hobart and William Smith Colleges recently introduced a new Master of Teaching program dedicated to providing a graduate degree and teacher certification for its liberal arts majors through a fifth year of study.
