Holmes
community college had its roots planted in Goodman, Mississippi, back in 1911. Since that time, Holmes
Community College has seen tremendous growth -- academically, culturally, and physically. Today, Holmes
Community College serves nine counties -- Attala, Carroll, Choctaw, Grenada, Holmes, Madison, Montgomery, Webster and Yazoo -- on four different campuses, making it the second largest
Community College district in the state. To meet the needs of its diverse student population and surrounding communities, Holmes
Community College offers a wide array of programs, courses, and services of the highest quality.
Holmes Community College delivers dozens of flexible, responsive programs. Over 30 majors are offered in seven different academic departments that allow students to earn an associate degree or transfer into a four-year university. Technical education programs as well as career education programs are also available at Holmes, providing students with one-year and two-year certificates and preparing them for immediate employment. Additionally, Holmes Community College has a Tech Prep program, which is a four-year sequence of study that begins in the 11th grade and continues through two years at the College, leading to a certificate or an associate degree. And, Holmes Community College is excited to be a member of the Mississippi Virtual Community College (MSVCC), which provides
online learning statewide. MSVCC is ideal for students interested in pursuing higher education but in need of flexible delivery formats because of time constraints and other obligations.
Holmes Community College is proud of its long and storied past; its history is an integral part of the institution. However, Holmes Community College continues to plan for the future with its continuous cycle of assessment and planning. Holmes Community College is committed to providing educational and cultural opportunities that prepare its students for academic success, productive employment, and lifelong learning.
