Founded in 1897, Huntington University is a private, Christian liberal arts college accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. It has also recognized as one of the fastest-growing colleges in Indiana.

Students have access to more than 70 fields of study, including bachelor's degrees in the arts, science, music, and social work. Through the EXCEL continuing education program, adult students can pursue bachelor's degrees in accounting, business administration, human resources management, and organizational leadership. Graduate students can earn a master's degree in the fields of ministry and education, and pre-medicine and pre-law programs are also available. Huntington University's pre-med program boasts a 100 percent acceptance rate among its students who apply to graduate schools.

Campus activities include 14 intercollegiate sports teams, performances at the Merillat Center for the Arts, and a campus radio station. Huntington University's mission is to "impact the world for Christ," and students are encouraged to participate in the study abroad program. Volunteerism is facilitated through the Joe Mertz Center for Volunteer Service, and eighty percent of resident Huntington University students participate in volunteer programs.
