Illinois Valley community college services eight counties and 21 high schools in the Oglesby, Illinois area. This 425-acre campus offers 41 certificate programs of study as well as associate degree programs in the areas of arts, science, engineering science, applied science, and general studies. Although 89 percent of the student body attends classes during the day, Illinois Valley offers night classes and a distance learning program designed to fit your schedule and lifestyle.

In addition to the programs offered on-campus, Illinois Valley Community College also cuts students a deal on programs offered on other campuses. The school maintains a close cooperative agreement with 20 other colleges in the Illinois Community College system. Illinois Valley Community College students who find a program of study not offered on campus may complete their degree at any of the 20 other partner schools without paying an out-of-district tuition rate.

Students are also encouraged to incorporate an internship into their program of study. Illinois Valley Community College provides internship search support to students looking to connect with local employers. Additional support services offered on campus include academic advising, financial aid counseling, support for international students, veteran support, peer tutoring, career counseling, an on-campus fitness center, child care facilities, personal counseling, and a reading and writing lab. The school also provides computer for student use, access to a wide array of international journals and periodicals through the library, and academic support services for low-income and first-generation college students.

Illinois Valley Community College also provides students with a broad spectrum of extracurricular activities. Each year the school hosts an array of musical, theatrical, and dance performances from both student artists as well as visiting performers. Illinois Valley Community College is home to seven varsity sports teams and an intramural athletics program open to all enrollees. A variety of student-led organizations can also be found on campus. Clubs range from religious groups to social clubs to professional organizations and each offers one more way for students to become involved on their campus.
