Indiana University East is a public, coeducational university established in 1971. As part of the
Indiana University system, this
Indiana state college offers students access to a wide array of programs and opportunities while maintaining the intimate atmosphere of a small campus.
The academic department at Indiana University East offers more than 40 programs, ranging from
certificate programs to a master's degree in education. Students can apply for the Honors Program, which provides an enriched learning experience, special scholarships, and research opportunities. Several degree programs are available for
distance learning as well, including a Bachelor of Science in
business Administration and various B.A. completion programs for students with 60 credits or more.
Academic clubs, honor societies, and student leadership groups comprise more than 20 student organizations that enhance campus life. Indiana University East also recently launched an intercollegiate athletics program, which competes in basketball, cheerleading, dance, golf, and volleyball. To coincide with the new program, Indiana University East changed their official mascot from the Pioneers to the Red Wolves, to symbolize the student body's aggressive spirit and strong sense of community.
