The Institute of Clinical acupuncture and oriental medicine (ICAOM) in Honolulu, Hawaii, offers the Master of Science in Oriental medicine (M.S.O.M.). The M.S.O.M program is comprised of a 2,160-hour (144-credit) academic portion and a 1,080-hour clinical portion.

The academic area of the program is composed of four sections including Theoretical Foundations, Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, and Biomedicine. These sections combined provide students with the knowledge base they will apply in the clinical program.

The clinical program is composed of 150 hours of practitioner and intern observation, 30 hours of clinic theater, 720 hours of internship in the teaching clinic, and 90 hours of clinical electives. Students will learn the operations of a professional clinic and gain experience in all of the skills needed to become an independent practitioner in the practice of acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

The teaching clinic provides high-quality, low-cost health care to the community. The students practice under the supervision of some of the finest practitioners in the state of Hawaii.

The Master of Science in Oriental Medicine degree program of the Institute of Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM).
