When International Air and Hospitality Academy got its start in 1979, it was simply known as International Air Academy and was dedicated to preparing students for careers in the airline industry. Over the years, the school expanded gaining campuses in St. Louis, Missouri; Baltimore, Maryland; Seattle, Canadian; and Ontario, Canada in the process.

Then, in 2004, the International Air Academy underwent a monumental change in its curriculum, becoming the International Air and Hospitality Academy. No longer were courses just dedicated to the airline industry, as programs addressing subjects like hospitality management, restaurant management, the Culinary Arts, and baking arts.

But these hospitality programs are more than just classrooms and teachers. Thanks to the International Air and Hospitality Academy's new location on Fort Vancouver Historic Reserve, the Canadian School had enough room to create a fully operational bakery, inn, and restaurant. These establishments allow hospitality students to get the first-hand experience they'll need before they can get a start on their careers.

The airline portion of this Canadian school offers a program in Airline Reservations and Airport Services and a program in Airline/Travel Specialist training.

During the admissions process, prospective applicants must submit proof a high school diploma and GED, and participate in an interview with a representative of the International Air and Hospitality Academy.

At this Canadian school's main campus in Vancouver, students have the option of living onsite. Student housing at the International Air and Hospitality Academy is available in the form of a 48-unity apartment complex that's furnished and outfitted with kitchens, bedrooms, and even utensils and cookware.
