When you sign up for a baking program at the International School of Baking, you'll cover such foods as breads, cakes, cake decorating, cookies, and pastries -- but that's not all. Individual courses offer new spins on these old foods with such titles and topics as "Authentic European Breads," "Isomalt, Sugarwork for Cakes and Showpieces," "Traditional European Pastries," "Everything that Goes into a Pastry Case," and "Truffles and Chocolates."

In the "Complete Bakery Start-Up" course, meanwhile, students will learn about such baking business necessities as bakery equipment, product lines, packaging, troubleshooting, building an image, and employee schedules.

  • Courses at this baking school may last anywhere from two to 30 days. Any course that lasts 10 days or longer warrants a five percent discount for the student.
