The International University of nursing on the island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean offers an Associate's degree in nursing (ASN) as well as a Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) that follow the guidelines established by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing education (CCNE). With affiliated United States colleges, also accredited by the NLNAC/CCNE and nursing state boards, all graduates will receive a degree from IUON and a separate degree from the affiliated school in the United States.

With over 25 years of experience in higher education, the President of the International School of Nursing recruits most of his licensed instructors from the states. The International University of Nursing St. Kitts boasts all new and modern equipment, including two 150-seat multipurpose labs, audiovisual equipment in classrooms, a library and learning resource center, and more cutting-edge technology. Due to its unique location students will get an international perspective on nursing, as well as standard United States training in the medical sciences.

It is projected that between 2005-20 that the need for nurses will grow eight-fold. At St. Kitts School of Nursing, those pursuing a BSN will be immersed in a traditional 120-hour program in practical nursing care. The first six semesters are completed on the campus in St. Kitts on the Caribbean Island. For their last year of study, students transfer to an affiliated school in the United States, either in New Jersey, Kentucky, Oklahoma or Puerto Rico. Students studying for their ASN spend three semesters on St. Kitts, and subsequent three or fours semesters at one of IUON's affiliated United States branches.
