The School of Radiologic Technology is apart of Iowa Methodist
Medical Center, one of the three health facilities that comprise Iowa Health - Des Moines. At this post-secondary institution of higher learning, students learn the ins and outs of radiologic technology, along with what it takes to be a radiologic technologist.
Also referred to as X-ray technologists and radiographers, a radiologic technologist offers their assistance to physicians and radiologists, and also takes the responsibility of performing imaging exams on patients. A radiologic technologist may be employed nearly anywhere -- from hospitals and clinics to private physicians' offices.
Upon completion of this
healthcare school's radiologic technology program, students will be able to enter the field as entry-level radiographers and can even choose to advance their careers into other fields in the imaging industry by enrolling in college courses and/or
Career Training classes in ultrasound technology, MRI technology, nuclear medicine, and radiation. With enough training and
education, graduates of the Iowa Health - Des Moines School of Radiologic Technology may go on to start careers as radiologist assistants, radiologists, and physician assistants.
