The training program at IUPUI Reflexology in Indianapolis, Indiana, prepares students to practice as nationally certified reflexologists. The reflexology certification course at this school can be completed in about 200 hours. Students enrolled in the program at IUPUI Reflexology will learn about the history of reflexology, anatomy, physiology, business practices, ethics, pathology and a range of other subjects. Graduates of IUPUI Reflexology (which is affiliated with Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis) are familiar with body work and injury prevention, and are prepared for fulfilling careers as independent reflexologists. While employment opportunities for reflexologists are varied (grads may work in spas or holistic health centers, for example), many alumni opt to go into business for themselves, taking advantage of the fact that they can work part-time or out of their own home.

The certification program at IUPUI Reflexology includes 25 hours of reflexology history, theory and techniques, 40 hours of body systems study, 30 hours of anatomy, physiology and pathology, and 15 hours of business practice and ethics. In addition, students are required to complete a 10-hour supervised practicum in a spa-like setting, as well as 90 hours of client sessions. These hands-on training experiences are a critical part of the education program at IUPUI Reflexology. Students and instructors work together in small groups to ensure that each student receives individualized attention. Classes at IUPUI meet over the course of six weekends. Individuals who would like to learn more about reflexology but are not interested in pursuing national certification can enroll in just one or two of the program's two-day classes. Most classes meet at the Indiana Therapeutic Massage School.

Students who complete a full course of study of IUPUI Reflexology will be prepared to receive national certification in reflexology from the American Reflexology Certification Board (ARCB). Receiving certification from the ACRB will allow students to practice reflexology in most U.S. states. IUPUI Reflexology's continuing studies program also meets the standards set by the ACRB. Financial aid may be available to help qualified students fund their studies at IUPUI Reflexology.
