Jefferson College of Health Sciences is a private, coeducational health sciences college. Founded as the Jefferson Hospital School of
nursing in 1914, it merged with the Lewis-Gale School of
nursing in 1965. Today, Jefferson College of Health Sciences provides the academic foundation for a career in
healthcare.
Students can pursue a master's degree in Nursing, Physician Assistant, or Occupational Therapy. More than 15 additional programs are offered at the bachelor's and associate level, including specialized fields like Health Psychology, Respiratory Therapy, and EMS Technology.

The Jefferson College of Health Sciences campus is located in downtown Roanoke, with more than 40 restaurants and a farmer's market within walking distance. Student Services sponsors a wide variety of activities on campus, and students can also pursue clinical and volunteer opportunities locally and abroad.

Students in nursing or respiratory therapy are eligible to have their tuition waived in exchange for a service agreement with the Carilion Clinic.
