The mission of John A. Gupton College is two-fold:
IT provides a strong
liberal arts background as well as solid preparation for a career in funeral arts and sciences. The academic curriculum is supported by clinical experiences in embalming and restorative art, in addition to an externship at a funeral services practice.
At John A. Gupton College, a total of 62 credits are needed for the associate of arts degree in Funeral Service. A student who attends class full-time can complete the degree in 16 months. The certificate in Funeral Services takes just one year to complete. Although many students at John A. Gupton College go on to careers in funeral service, the
liberal arts curriculum is excellent preparation for other careers and academic opportunities as well.
John A. Gupton College works to further the philosophy of the
American Board of
funeral service education, Inc., which includes providing students with the proper
education and ethical foundation needed for a career in the respected field of funeral service.
