The mission of Johnston Community College is to provide students with the education and skills training necessary to improve the local, regional, and state work force; JCC also aims to provide an academic program transferable to four-year colleges for students wishing to continue with their educational pursuits. In addition to the career and academic programs available, Johnston Community College offers a wide variety of credit and non-credit courses and programs to develop technical knowledge, to increase basic literacy skills, and to add cultural enrichment.
