Kansas City Art Institute, a four-year independent, fully accredited college of art and design offers a bachelor of
fine arts degree in 12 areas of emphasis. The typical student course load integrates intensive studio experience with 45 credit hours of
liberal arts.
At Kansas City Art Institute, students can pursue majors in animation, art history, ceramics, fiber,
Graphic Design, interdisciplinary arts, digital
filmmaking, painting,
photography, printmaking, sculpture and studio art with an emphasis on creative writing. They are required to complete 129 credit hours over four years.
Kansas City Art Institute has agreements with local colleges and universities through the Kansas City Area School Exchange program that allows students to take one class per semester at a participating school. This program allows students to access classes not available at KCAI such as foreign languages.
