With one look at Kapi'olani community college's web site, surfers may wonder why anyone would want to be stuck in classes in beautiful Hawaii. Located on the slopes of the world-famous Diamond Head Crater, this Hawaii college is minutes away from the beach, Waikiki and downtown Honolulu. Well, that's because Kapi'olani Community College is a place where Hawaii's cultural diversity is celebrated, championed and reflected in the students, faculty, staff administration and curriculum.

Programs of study at this Hawaii college campus include exercise and sports science, new media arts, entrepreneurship and emergency medical technician. In addition to having the choice to student in the classroom or online, students at Kapi'olani Community College also can participate in the Hawaii college's study abroad program. Scholarships are available for students who wish to take classes in such countries as Japan, Korea, China and France.

Located on the island of O'ahu, Kapi'olani Community College offers nationally recognized programs in culinary studies, health sciences, emergency medical services and legal assistance.

Kapi'olani Community College is actually part of the 10-campus University of Hawaii system. Throughout the entire system, there currently are 50,157 students enrolled, with 77 percent of those students hailing from Hawaii. In totally, the University of Hawaii system offers 624 programs.
