Offering both two and four-year degree programs as well as certificate programs of study, Kauai community college is proving that there's more to Hawaii than sand and surf. Offering 30 different degree and certificate programs, the school provides students with typical college majors like accounting and education as well as unique programs of study (like Hawaiian Studies and Polynesian Voyaging) you'll be pressed to find anywhere else. Academically, Kauai Community College focuses primarily on practical degree programs in the areas of business, education, and health services, however, it also offers coursework in technical areas including Auto Body Repair and Painting, automotive Mechanics Technology, and Electronics Technology. The school's Office of Continuing Education and Training also offers credited and non-credited workshops in areas such as Landscaping, Commercial Driving, and Microsoft Office. To supplement their in-class education, students will also have the chance to participate in paid cooperative education internships with area companies.

Socially, students at Kauai Community College have 13 student clubs and organizations with which to become involved. Covering a wide breadth of professional, social, and religious groups, on-campus clubs gives Kauai Community College students a chance to meet and greet the rest of their campus. Additionally, Kauai's Performing Arts Center serves up fresh musical, dance, and theatrical performances each year. Serving both the school and the surrounding community, the 2007 roster of events includes a performance of "The Jungle Book" by Hawaii Children's Theatre, a botanic herbs festival, and the Hawaii International Film Festival. The school's annual Kauai Literature Festival draws published authors as well as more than 400 middle and high school students to campus each year.

Students who encounter either academic or personal troubles throughout the year will have several on-campus places to turn. The school's Learning Center offers free tutoring, computer labs, college success workshops, distance learning testing, writing workshops, peer assistance, and support services. Kauai Community College also offers on-campus personal counseling.
