Keene
state college is a public
liberal arts college. Founded in 1909 and accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, this New Hampshire state college's academic mission is to encourage creative thinking and active citizenship among students.
Keene State College is comprised of four schools: Arts and
humanities, Professional and Graduate Studies, Sciences and Social Sciences, and Division of Continuing
education. More than 40 programs are offered at the
associate and bachelor's level, along with a Master of Education program. Students have the opportunity to enrich their classroom studies with conferences and competitions, special projects,
internships, or independent study opportunities.
Keene State College is an NCAA Division III school with more than 15 men's and women's teams including basketball, cross country, lacrosse, swimming, track, and soccer. Students can also participate in recreational clubs such as paintball and historical fencing, or compete in more than 15 intramural sports. Keene State College offers nearly 100 student organizations, including academic clubs, Greek life, and student-run media. Keene State students complete more than 15,000 hours worth of community service annually, fulfilling the school's motto, "Enter to learn; go forth to serve."
