Founded in 1867, King College is a private, Presbyterian-affiliated, comprehensive college structured on a university model. Tennessee Presbyterian College is guided by a set of core principles including intellectual discipline, spiritual maturity, lifelong learning, and cultural transformation.

King College's academic program has been ranked among the best in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. Undergraduate students can choose from more than 80 areas of study, including bachelor's degree programs in business, computer science, nursing, law, medical and health sciences, education, humanities and pharmaceutical science. At the graduate level, King College offers a Master of business Administration. Adult-oriented degree programs at King College include an M.B.A. program, a Bachelor of business Administration, and an RN to BSN program.

King College's 135-acre campus is located in Bristol, the "Birthplace of Country Music" and home of the Bristol Motor Speedway. King College is an NAIA Division II school with 20 men's and women's teams competing for The Tornado.
