As a member of the Illinois Consortium for International Studies and Programs, Kishwaukee
Community College provides students with the opportunity to study abroad. Destinations for 2007 included language study in summer Dijon, France, semester-long cultural study in Salzburg, Austria, and five-week Spanish immersion in San Jose, Costa Rica.
Once classes are out, Kishwaukee Community College students participate in a wide variety of on-campus clubs and activities. Offering eight varsity athletic teams and a school-sponsored wellness center open to all enrollees, Kishwaukee students have plenty of outlets to stay both mentally and physically fit. Kishwaukee also offers a host of student-led clubs and organizations including a student-run newspaper, student government association, and competitive speaking team. The on-campus art gallery provides space for both visual art exhibitions and performance art.
To make sure reach your educational goals, Kishwaukee Community College provides all enrollees with academic advising, personal counseling, in-person and
online writing support, child care, special needs services, and employment resources. The school also offers GED prep courses, study skills assessments, bilingual counseling, English as a Second Language courses, remedial math and reading training, family literacy counseling, teen parenting services, job placement services, and workforce preparation programs for students ages 16 to 21.
