Kutztown University of Pennsylvania is a public, comprehensive university and a member of the State system of higher education. Founded in 1866 and granted university status in 1983, this Pennsylvania public university is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.

Kutztown University offers an extensive selection of undergraduate and graduate degree programs in the fields of business, education, liberal arts, sciences, and visual and performing arts. In addition to classroom studies, undergraduate students can participate in the KU Honors program, national honor societies, study abroad programs, freshmen seminars, independent study, and internships. For adult students, noncredit courses and accelerated training programs are available through the Center for Lifelong Learning.

Kutztown University is an NCAA Division II team, with 10 men's teams and 11 women's teams. More than 160 student organizations are available as well, including academic groups, performing arts, rec sports, Greek life, and service. The campus includes a gallery, planetarium, recreation center, Student Union, and TV production facilities.
