Established in 1897, Langston University is a public, land-grant, historically black institution accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. This Oklahoma university's mission is to educate a diverse student body in the arts, sciences, humanities, business, agriculture, education, nursing, and health professions.

Langston University students can pursue degrees from one of six schools: The School of Arts & Sciences, the School of business, the School of Education & Behavioral Sciences, the School of Agriculture & Applied Sciences, the School of Nursing & Health Professions, and the School of Physical Therapy. Langston University also offers graduate-level programs in education, rehabilitation counseling, and physical therapy.

Langston University is an NAIA school competing in football, basketball, track, and women's softball. Campus life at Langston University includes student government, a campus radio station, student publications, music, theater, honor societies, and special interest organizations.
