Laurus technical institute, in operation since 1986, is a technical school comprised of two campuses located in Decatur and Jonesboro, Georgia. Laurus offers healthcare programs and a Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (HVACR) training program.

Laurus Technical Institute has three medical training programs including medical assistant, Medical Billing and coding, and medical office administration. The HVACR training program is 49 credit hours and 720 clock hours including classroom instruction, labs and an externship. Laurus faculty have an average of over 10 years experience in their industry. HVACR instructors average over 15 years experience in the industry and have worked in sales, installation, maintenance, and servicing and repair for residential, industrial, and commercial companies.

Laurus Technical Institute's Career Services Department helps students find employment after graduating from their training program. Throughout the training program, the Career Services Department works with students to develop a professional portfolio to present to potential employers.
