Linfield College is a private, coeducational, comprehensive college offering a liberal arts education with an international emphasis. Chartered in 1858, this Oregon Baptist college has been accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities since 1922 and is affiliated with the American Baptist Churches. Along with its main residential campus in McMinnville, Linfield College has a campus in Portland and a distance learning program for adult students.

Linfield College offers more than 40 academic majors leading to a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, or Bachelor of Science in nursing degree. Experiential learning is available through volunteer activities, off-campus education, and peer instruction. In addition, Linfield College boasts a strong tradition in study abroad, with more than half of students participating before graduation. For continuing students, the Adult Degree program offers courses online and at eight sites in Oregon.

Linfield College is an NCAA Division III school with nine men's teams and 10 women's teams competing at the varsity level. Students can also participate in more than 50 student organizations on campus, including club sports, academic and social groups, student-run media, and special interest clubs ranging from breakdancing to knitting.
