The Lone Star College System is a system of community colleges located in Texas. The schools in the Lone Star College System include: CyFair; Kingwood; Montgomery; North Harris; and Tomball. The Lone Star College System was founded in 1972 as the North Harris County College. The original college served students in the Aldine, Humble and Spring school districts. Later, New Caney, Tomball, Conroe, Willis, Splendora, Klein and Cypress-Fairbanks joined the consortium. In 2003, the Lone Star College System relocated to their present location in The Woodlands. The system was previously known as the North Harris
Montgomery Community College District.
Students enrolled in schools in the Lone Star College System have a choice of pursuing certificate, diploma or associate degree programs. The degree programs of study include:

engineering design; electronics technology; fire science technology; geographic information systems; health information technology; heating, air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration; hospitality management; human services; industrial maintenance; interior design; interpreter training technology; land surveyor; logistics management; machining technology; management; medical assisting; medical radiologic technology;
nursing; occupational therapy assistant; paralegal studies; pharmacy technology; physical therapists assistant; professional office technology; respiratory care; surgical technology; veterinary technology; visual communication; and welding technology.
Prospective students wishing to enroll in schools within the Lone Star College System must have a high school diploma or GED for all of the associate degree programs and most of the certificate and diploma programs; and should either have SAT or ACT scores, or take the Compass exam. Students who have attended other colleges or universities must also provide a transcript from those schools. Students in high school may dual enroll in the schools while completing their high school education. Students in need of GED assistance can obtain that from schools within the Lone Star College System.
