Since its start in 1949 as a technical school, Los Angeles Harbor College has evolved to become a school known for its occupational training and transfer education. Students can choose from a wide variety of programs in business, communications, arts, humanities, and the sciences. Many of these programs directly tie in to the needs of the community, with many partnerships forged between Los Angeles Harbor College and business and civic organizations.

Los Angeles Harbor College is a leader among community colleges, providing top-notch support to its students as they work towards associate's degrees, occupational certificates, or credits to be used towards a bachelor's degree at a four-year college or university. For students with full-time careers, Los Angeles Harbor College offers PACE (Program for Accelerated College Education), which allows them to earn an associate's degree in only five semesters.

It is an exciting time at Los Angeles Harbor College, which is undergoing major, campus-wide constructions and renovations. By 2009, a state-of-the-art campus will be completely available to support students and faculty in their quest for education and training.
