First established as Lower Columbia Junior College in 1934, Lower
Columbia College has spent the last century growing into a comprehensive two-institution of higher learning. Today this
community college offers everything from GEDs and certificate programs to professional-technical degrees and transfer degrees. And with over 50 disciplines to choose from -- ranging from
automotive technology, computer science, environmental studies, and geology to
engineering, journalism, psychology, and welding technology -- students are sure to find the training they need to succeed in the future.
From an original enrollment of less than 60 students, to the thousands that attend today, this
Washington College has grown in many ways. In fact, Lower Columbia College now stands on 35 acres of lands and encompasses 25 different buildings. But students who can't make it to campus needn't worry as this community college offers several online -- as well as hybrid -- courses. Whether you need to learn the basics of chemistry, American literature, or general psychology, this community college's online programs provide the instruction you need.
