Founded in 1846 as a Methodist school for women, MacMurray College has grown to become a co-ed institution offering a strong liberal arts education and career-focused degree programs. In addition to preparing students for rewarding careers, MacMurray College's dedicated faculty and administration also encourage students to become life-long learners, studying not just for their professional goals, but for personal and spiritual goals as well.

This offers dozens of undergraduate majors in the following areas of study: art, biology, business and accounting, sport management, chemistry, criminal justice, education and teacher preparation, English, theatre, history, political science, liberal studies, modern language, nursing, philosophy and religion, psychology, and social work. The liberal arts experience at MacMurray College is focused on developing writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills that will serve as the backbone of whatever career path students choose to pursue.
