Founded in 1994 as the School of Hair Technology, Majestany Institute changed its name to reflect its growing course offerings--hairstyling, esthetics, mail technology and make-up. Students can receive intensive Cosmetology training in any of the Majestany Institute's three locations in Fredericton, Saint John or Moncton.

The Majestany Institute's hairstyling program provides 1,600 hours of training, including up to 250 hours of experience working in salons, toward becoming a qualified hairstylist. In addition to learning about hair care and various cutting, trimming and coloring techniques, students learn how to conduct themselves professionally with courses on client relations, merchandising, and reception and telephone skills. After receiving their diploma, students are eligible to take the Provincial Exam held by the New Brunswick cosmetology Association.

Upon receiving diplomas from the esthetics program at Majestany Institute, many students go on to become licensed and practice at the top spas in the province. The 1,260-hour course includes up to 100 hours of hands-on work in salons, where students apply what they have learned in courses about spa treatments, hair removal, aromatherapy, nutrition massage and skin health. Recent additions to the curriculum include microdermabrasian, light therapy, spa mud treatments and hot stone therapy.

The Majestany Institute and its students have been honored by the cosmetology Association of New Brunswick for Highest Achieving Aesthetic Practical Class in the Province, Highest Achieving Nail Technology Students, Highest Scores in New Brunswick for the Provincial Theory Certification Exam and Highest Scores in the Provincial Practical Certification Exam.

All Majestany Institute instructors are registered with the Private Occupational Training Act and licensed with the cosmetology Association of New Brunswick.

Graduates of the makeup program can immediately begin their careers as makeup artists.
