Marietta College is located in one of the first settlements in the Northwest, Marietta, Ohio. Almost two decades ago, the private,
liberal arts college was founded on the principal of educating students in
liberal arts and sciences. Today Marietta blends those curriculums with career-oriented programs among a culturally diverse student body hailing from 42 states and 12 countries.
These career-oriented programs are offered in sports medicine, computer science, petroleum
engineering, and environmental science. Other concentrations are available in leadership, finance, and Asian Studies. Students receive a strong liberal arts foundation to prepare them for graduate school or their desired career. Marietta confers bachelor's degrees in an array of areas and master's degrees in International Corporate Media, Education, Physician Assistant Studies, and Psychology.

First year students will participate in the First Year Program, a program that helps students transition from high school to college life at Marietta. Freshman students will enroll in the First Year Seminar and the College Life and Leadership Laboratory.
Fall 2005, Marietta College received a 10 million dollar gift to build the Learning and Library Resource Center. The Dawes Library has over 250,000 volumes and 450 print periodicals, more than 4,000 online periodicals and other resources available through Ohiolink, a collection of Ohio academic libraries.
