Founded more than 30 years ago, Marion Technical College is a public two-year institution of higher learning in service to the state of Ohio. Although the school only had 187 students during its opening days, it has spent the last century developing into a comprehensive Technical College with more than 2,100 students currently enrolled. Marion Technical College has also seen its course offerings grow from four technical programs to almost 70 different associate degree and certificate programs.

For students eager to enter the workforce, this Ohio Technical College offers occupational associate degrees in fields such as real estate, paralegal studies, business management, manufacturing engineering, software development, nursing, and medical assisting. Certificate programs are also available for subjects like computer networking, healthcare management, telecommunications, medical billing and coding, and phlebotomy.

Some individual programs within this Ohio technical college have been approved by outside organizations. For example, the nursing, medical laboratory technology, and physical therapist assisting programs have been accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS), and the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Thanks to new Ohio legislation, Marion Technical College aims to offer students both associate of arts and associate of science degree programs starting the autumn of 2008.
