Founded by the Marist Brothers in 1929 as a seminary, Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., is now a highly ranked liberal arts institution. Although this New York College enjoys a rich Catholic tradition, it is an independent school, counting more than 30,000 alumni, all with a wide variety of interests and backgrounds.

Marist College offers more than 60 baccalaureate, graduate and certificate programs. Undergraduates can choose from more than 100 majors and minors in the following divisions: communications and the arts, computer science and mathematics, liberal arts, management, science, and social and behavioral sciences. The School of Continuing Education offers full-time working adults--many of whom are also raising families--a flexible way to earn a bachelor of arts of bachelor of science in more than 30 programs. Graduate students at Marist College can choose from more than a dozen degree and certificate options, ranging from communications and education to finance and executive leadership.

In 2006, Marist College announced a strategic plan for expanding its campus. Already a beautiful sight along the shore of the Hudson River, Marist College's new construction of sports, academic and residential facilities are yet another example of this school's commitment to its students.
