Martin Luther College is a WELS College of Ministry, providing education to future pastors, teachers, and staff members for public ministry in the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. The college is owned and operated by the Wisconsin Evangelical Synod and was formed through a merger of Dr. Martin Luther College and Northwestern College. Martin Luther College opened its doors in 1995.

Martin Luther College students are taught by faculty with Expertise in their fields, who have spiritual maturity, parish and school experience. Martin Luther students are mentored based on their backgrounds, personal experiences and their desired future paths in ministry. With an 11 to 1 student to faculty ratio, students will receive valuable personal attention to assist them in their educational success. The college offers Bachelor's of Science degrees in Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Early Childhood Education, Staff Ministry, Staff Ministry and Parish Music, a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Pre-Seminary Studies, a Master's of Science in Education, Certification in Staff Ministry and Seminary and a Post-Baccalaureate Licensure Program.

  • The college has a 900 seat chapel with 42 rank organ, two music buildings, choir and band room, six piano teaching studios, 15 piano practice rooms, 19 pipe organs and two computerized piano labs. Students also have the option to join the many musical groups on campus including four choirs, jazz and pep band, percussion ensemble, brass choir, handbell choir, and the woodwind ensemble.


  • Martin Luther College is in the NCAA Division III Upper Midwest Athletic Conference and participates with eight men's and eight women's intercollegiate sports.
