Mary Baldwin College is a private four-year,

Students who attend Mary Baldwin's undergraduate Residential College for Women (RCW) have an assortment of academic choices to suit their individual educational dreams and needs.
The Residential College for Women's signature programs and MBC Advantage give students an unforgettable and personalized college experience. The signature programs include Virginia Women's Institute for Leadership, Program for the Exceptionally Gifted, Quest Interfaith Village, and the Honors Program. Mary Baldwin College offers bachelor's in
arts and sciences including the adults degree program on campus and at three regional centers throughout the state, Master of Arts in Teaching on campus and at regional centers in Richmond, Roanoke, and Charlottesville, Master of Letters and Master of
fine arts in Shakespeare and Renaissance Literature in Performance, more than 30 majors and minors, preprofessional programs in law, medicine, ministry, ROTC, and undergraduate and graduate teaching licensure programs.

The adult degree program had an enrollment of 1268 men and women and 179 men and women enrolled in graduate programs.
In the 2006-2007 academic year, Mary Baldwin College conferred 236 Bachelor of Arts, 13 Bachelor of Science, 38 Master of Arts in Teaching, 18 Master of Letters, and 14 Master of Fine Art degrees.

The Virginia Women's Institute for Leadership began in 1995 and is the only all female cadet corps in the nation. The cadets are in ROTC and Virginia Corps of Cadets including students from Virginia Tech and the Virginia Military Institute. Sixty percent select professions outside of the military and more than 35% accept commission to the armed forces.
Mary Baldwin's Program for the Exceptionally Gifted (PEG) began in 1985 and is the only program of its kind in the nation. PEG accepts as young as rising 8th graders and the average age of a PEG freshmen is 14. The average SAT score for a PEG student entering in fall 2007 was 1477 and the average GPA was 3.84.
