Marylhurst University is the oldest Catholic university in Oregon, located 10 minutes from Portland between Lake Oswego and West Linn. Founded in 1859 by the Sisters of the Holy Names, Marylhurst delivers academic excellence to its students through seminar-style classes, innovative programs and flexible course offerings. Students have a choice of day, evening, weekend, and online courses.

The college confers bachelor's and graduate degrees in a range of subjects and professional certificates. Professional certification is available in Art Therapy, business Management, Counseling, Gerontology, Human Resources, Pastoral Care, Public Relations, Real Estate Studies, Sacred Music, Theological Studies, and Training Development. Prior Learning Assessment, Teacher Continuing Ed, Cooperative, Employer Partnership and online Programs help Marylhurst students achieve their educational goals.

  • Marylhurst facilities serve to enhance each student's personal and educational campus experience. The St. Anne's Chapel, Wiegand Lecture, and Recital Hall hold concerts, seminars and performances, and the Art Gym showcases Northwest artists.


  • The Shoen Library is committed to providing electronic resources on campus and online for its students and faculty. The library has over 100,000 volumes, 500 current print journal subscriptions, and more than 3,000 online full-text journal subscriptions. With membership in Orbis Cascade Alliance, Northwest academic library consortia, students can borrow an additional 22 million volumes.
