Marymount University is a co-educational Catholic university founded by the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary, located minutes from Washington, D.C. Marymount University's mission is to give students a strong liberal arts and science foundation, career preparation, and personal and professional advancement.

Marymount has numerous undergraduate and graduate programs as well as certificate programs and takes advantage of its location near the nation's capitol through internships, coursework and guest lecturers in Washington, D.C. Internship sites in the area include congressional offices, the Smithsonian museums, federal agencies, corporations, professional associations, educational institutions, health care facilities, and non-profit organizations.

  • The educational and personal resources on campus include classroom buildings and laboratories including computer lab, faculty and administrative offices, and residence halls. In the Emerson G. Reinsch Auditorium, students will find the Learning Resource Center, Instructional Media Center, Reinsch Auditorium, Lee Reception Room and the Barry Art Gallery.


  • The Marymount University Rose Bente Lee Center features the 1,000 seat Verizon Sports Arena, fitness center, Bernie's café, the University bookstore, a recreational gym, swimming pool, a lounge, athletic offices, and meeting rooms.


  • More than 800 students give a total of 8,000 community service hours through Campus Ministry sponsored activities. The campus community is also involved in Halloween Fest, an event for disadvantaged children, the Special Olympics Regional Basketball Tournament, holiday fundraisers, and weekly service programs.


  • The Marymount University provides community outreach by partnering with corporate and community organizations. The university has partnerships with Arlington and Fairfax County Public Schools for Marymount University's Professional Development School, and area health clinics and organizations to provide care for low income patients.
