The 130-acre campus of Maryville University has natural beauty and a convenient West County location for both residential and commuter students, all within 20 minutes of downtown St. Louis, Missouri.

Originally founded in 1872 as an Academy for young women, Maryville University is now a coeducational institution and one of the oldest private colleges in and around St. Louis. Maryville University is known today as a community-oriented liberal arts school committed to integrating professional learning and experience into courses of study.

Maryville University is considered a diverse, people-oriented campus that puts great emphasis on the importance of personal growth and responsible interaction. The university prides itself on the one-on-one attention students receive, evidenced in average class sizes of 15 and a student-to-faculty ratio of 12 to 1.
