The Massachusetts Maritime Academy is located on Cape COD, Massachusetts. MMA is the nation's oldest coeducational maritime college and prepares men and women for careers on land and sea through a regimented lifestyle balanced with a typical four-year college environment.

The Massachusetts Maritime Academy is a college that allows students to pursue their love of the ocean, environment, math, sciences, and adventure. Part of the training at MMA includes travel to exotic foreign ports aboard their training ship--a 15,500-horsepower, 540-foot steamship--which cadets control under supervision of seasoned professionals.

Students earn a bachelor of science degree at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy and can earn a Merchant Marine Officer's License or an optional Naval Officer's Commission.

The Massachusetts Maritime Academy awards degrees in international maritime business, marine engineering, marine transportation, facilities, engineering, marine safety, environmental protection, and emergency management.

Participation in vigorous extracurricular activity is strongly supported by the administration at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy and over 70 percent of the student body competes.
