McMurry University is a liberal arts university, steeped in the United Methodist tradition, located on 40 acres of residential area in Abilene, Texas. Abilene was recognized in Money Magazine as one of the top 100 safest places to live.

McMurry University offers bachelor's degrees in fine arts, humanities, social and natural sciences, business, education and nursing. McMurry University's special programs include the Honors Program, Intercollege Enrollment, May Term, McWhiney Foundation and Press, Model UN Program, Pre-engineering, Pre-Health, Pre-Law, and other professional programs as well as a Public History program and Servant Leadership Center.
