McMurry University is a liberal arts university, steeped in the United Methodist tradition, located on 40 acres of residential area in Abilene, Texas. Abilene was recognized in Money Magazine as one of the top 100 safest places to live.

McMurry University offers bachelor's degrees in fine arts, humanities, social and natural sciences, business, education and nursing. McMurry University's special programs include the Honors Program, Intercollege Enrollment, May Term, McWhiney Foundation and Press, Model UN Program, Pre-engineering, Pre-Health, Pre-Law, and other professional programs as well as a Public History program and Servant Leadership Center.

McMurry University awards more than $3.8 million annually in scholarships. Financial assistance is also available through state, federal, loans, work opportunities, and other sources that include yearly financial awards from foundations, corporations, civic, and community organizations.

McMurry University has a variety of housing options for students interested in on campus living. The housing options available are the Goldstar Coed Residence Hall, Hunt All Male residence hall, President All Male residence hall, Martin All Female residence hall, and University Apartments.

The McMurry campus provides everything students need personally and academically through campus dining, a wellness center, the academic enrichment center, health and safety, and the Carelton Chapel.

The University's Mobile online Visionary Education Program Initiative ensures that students have computer access to campus resources at all times and will replace a student's computer every two years, to ensure students have the latest technology.
