MedTech Institute, formerly medical Shield Academy, is a new technical school in the Rio Grande Valley, preparing to open enrollment in Fall 2008. The Texas vocational school has two locations including the Brownsville Campus and the Harlingen Campus.

Programs of study at MedTech Institute will include ECG/EKG Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, medical assistant, Physical Therapy Technician, CPR Certification and Notary Public.
