Memphis College of Art is an art and design college dedicated to preparing students for a life of creating, problem solving, and critical thinking. Memphis college of Art is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and is a member of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.

Undergraduate programs are available in book/paper, ceramics, digital media, drawing, fiber arts, Graphic Design, illustration, liberal studies, metalwork, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture while graduate programs include a Master of fine arts in which students enhance their studio work with courses in history, theory and criticism. Critical seminars and distinguished faculty assist students in intensive studio work and final thesis.

Memphis College of Art students will earn credit toward their degree at no additional cost.


  • Memphis College of Art is a participant in the New York Studio program. Students in this program will have the opportunity to study for a semester in New York with their own studio and regular critiques.


  • Memphis College of the Art has community outreach programs to encourage the local residents to embrace art. The college's exhibitions, tours and demonstrations run all year long and include a wide range of art from the first year student studio to the Horn Island wilderness sculpture.


  • Other outreach programs include a visiting artist lecture series, which invites artists, scholars, and critics to interact with the college and the community; teacher recertification classes, which are offered to local teachers and are 90 percent subsidized by the Memphis College of Art; and the city and county art teacher in-service, which takes place two days a year in August and January, and is 100 percent subsidized for local teachers and faculty.
