Mercer University - Tift college of education, established in 1995, prepares students to serve as teachers and school leaders through undergraduate, graduate and certification programs.

Students at this Georgia college of education are required to participate in field experiences conducted at a school site. Prospective teachers are given the opportunity to observe, plan, and practice in diverse settings appropriate to the professional roles that they are being prepared to undertake. These experiences include classroom observations, assisting and conferring with classroom teachers and school administrators, individual and/or small group tutoring, participation in classroom, school and community-wide activities, whole group instruction, and other professional roles in schools.

Field experiences are accompanied by professional support and feedback from cooperating teachers and university supervisors.

Undergraduate programs at Mercer University - Tift College of Education are offered in Macon and in the Academic Centers. Graduate programs are offered on the campuses in Macon, Atlanta, and Henry County.
