Meredith College is independent, private, and one of the largest women's colleges in the
United States, offering students an undergraduate education in
liberal arts with co-educational graduate programs in
business, nutrition, and education, on an exquisite 225-acre campus in Raleigh,
North Carolina.
Meredith College provides students with a choice of more than 50 majors and concentrations, awards bachelor's and master's degrees, including a Master of Education with licensure in three different areas, a Master of Music, and a Master of Science in Nutrition. In addition to the programs and curriculums offered, there are numerous opportunities for educational advancement at Meredith College through The Undergraduate Research Program, which supports student and faculty research partnerships, study abroad options, and the Raleigh College's consortium permits students to take classes at other Raleigh colleges and universities. Meredith also partners with
North Carolina State University's College of
engineering to offer a dual degree program.

In the 2007-2008 academic year, there were 132 full-time faculty members, with the student-faculty ratio at 10 to 1 and an average class size of 17 students.
Ninety percent of full-time professors have earned doctoral or other terminal degrees. Sixty-two percent of the full-time staff are women.
Meredith College is located in Raleigh, the capital city of North Carolina. The Meredith student body is a part of more than 108,000 students residing in the Research Triangle Park area, a premiere research and development center in the country.
The 225-acre campus consists of a 1,200 seat amphitheater, seven residence halls, music library, art galleries, a research greenhouse, music practice rooms, auditoriums, a theater, concert halls, a student center, computer labs, a child care center, a learning center, an autism center, an astronomy observation deck, an indoor swimming pool, a fitness center, a dance studio, tennis courts, putting green, a soccer field, and two miles of greenway connecting the campus to the community.
Meredith's Carlyle Campbell Library has more than 186,000 volumes, 15,626 microforms, and 669 newspapers and journal subscriptions.
The Presidential Lecture Series, juried students exhibitions, active concert schedule, and visiting artist and exhibitions are sponsored by Meredith College to enrich the student's college experience.
Students can improve and enhance their leadership skills by participating in Meredith leadership programs such as The Emerging Leader Seminar Series, Leadership Enrichment Series Organization, Officer and Advisor Training, Peer Leadership Consultant Program, Sloan Family Leadership Program, Sophie Lanneau Women's Leadership Development Program, and the LeaderShape Institute.
Meredith College has six NCAA Division III sports and in 2007-2008, will compete in the South Athletic Conference. Meredith also has a synchronized swimming team, the Aqua Angels, who perform twice during the academic school year.
