Nail Technology and esthetics. The Indiana beauty college is located in a fully equipped, 11,000 square foot, two story building that offers three separate clinics. Merrillville Beauty College also offers services to the public.
In order to complete training, students must take 1,500 hours of either
cosmetology or barbering, 700 hours of esthetics, 600 hours of nail
technology or 1,000 hours of instructor training. Class size at Merrillville is kept to a minimum of 10 students and a maximum of 16.
Students in the nail technology program are instructed in the use of acrylics, silks, gels and fiberglass as enhancements, nail art and design, air brushing and accessory application. This curriculum also covers hand and foot massage as well as reflexology.
