Mesa State College is a liberal arts college in Grand Junction, Colorado, founded in 1925, with programs conferring master's, bachelor's, and associate degrees and certificates in an array of majors and concentrations. Mesa State's main campus is the perfect place to study or relax. Its beautiful, green, open space is occasionally used to hold classes during late spring and early fall.

Mesa State College also has two other campuses, the Montrose campus in Montrose, Colorado and Western Colorado Community College. The Montrose campus gives residents an opportunity to earn associate degrees and begin a college education by taking required General Education courses to attain future baccalaureate degrees at Colorado colleges and universities. It is attached to the Montrose Regional Library, is fully equipped with the latest technology, provides access to electronic resources at the Grand Junction campus, and has distance learning education technology. The Western Colorado community college is home to the Applied Technology program of Mesa State College and is a partnership between Mesa State College, Mesa County School District 51, and the business community in the area.

  • Mesa State's Tomlinson Library has over 300,000 volumes, 855 journals, 700,000 microforms, 14,000 maps, 10,000 audio visual materials, and subscribes to more than 50 Internet databases. The library is the largest academic library from Salt Lake City, Utah to Denver, Colorado.
  • Mesa State College Athletic teams have won more than 58 championships. The college has been honored for having the highest graduation rate among its student athletes.
  • Mesa State offers tuition programs for students coming in from 23 different states under its Western Undergraduate Exchange and Mountain & Plains programs. 
  • Mesa State College has a 17:1 student to faculty ratio with a faculty focused on teaching instead of research.
  • 85% of classes at Mesa State have 45 students or less. 50% of classes are 25 students or less.
  • Mesa State has undergone a 148 million dollar campus expansion and renovation. This includes a new Academic building, two new residence halls, a Science Building Expansion, a new Student Union and College Center, new athletics facilities, a new Natatorium with Olympic size Pool, and a newly expanded Student Recreation Center.
  • The Mesa State College Outdoor Program travels abroad twice a year, allowing students an opportunity to see the world while gaining college credit. Past trips include trips to Egypt, Turkey, China, Chili, Africa, Baja Mexico, and Jamaica.
