Messiah is a Christian college founded by the Brethren in Christ Church and chartered in 1909, with emphasis on liberal arts and sciences as an educational foundation. The Grantham, Pennsylvania campus spans 400 acres, in a suburban setting, 10 miles from the capital city of Harrisburg, with easy access to the urban centers of Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, D.C.

Messiah College's Philadelphia campus is dedicated to providing access and enrichment in Christian higher education. This multi-faceted educational facility has apartments, a library, chapel, classroom, cafeteria, lounge, offices, computer lab, and recreational areas as well as seven townhouses across from Temple University with residential space for more than 90 students.

Messiah College awards bachelor's degrees in more than 50 majors, 60 minors and secondary education certificates in 11 academic areas, through 13 academic departments. Study opportunities are available off campus with Brethren Colleges abroad, Daystar University, AuSable Institute of Environmental Studies, Oregon Extension, and programs offered by the Council for Christian colleges and Universities.
