Methodist University, located in Fayetteville, North Carolina, is a co-educational liberal arts college, chartered in 1956 and opened to students in 1960. It was established thanks to a joint venture between the citizens of Fayetteville/Cumberland County and the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Methodist University offers majors and concentrations in more than 70 areas of study including communications, justice studies, business administration, education, and social work. Methodist University recently added new majors and concentrations which include Management Information Systems, Resort Management, and Computer Information technology. Students interested in leadership development can minor in Leadership Studies through Lura S. Tally Center for Leadership Development. In fall 2001, the college offered it's first master's degree in the Physician Assistant program and in 2005 began an MBA at Pinehurst and Master of Justice Administration.

The Professional MBA at Pinehurst focuses on golf, resort, and tennis management. There are 13 courses for the MBA, taken over two years and courses are held at the Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
